MPhil students are not given a stipend. However, there are some scholarships available, such as the ones under the SYLFF programme at Jadavpur University. The UGC may also have scholarship schemes, but I am not sure.
Generally the students of any Central University get a stipend in a M Phil course.But since Jadavpur University is a State university,it doesnt pay a penny!
d.u. ppl get 3000 bucks a month,they also get upto 8000 bucks a year for xeroxes provided they keep the cash memo.they can work 6 hours a week on campus and earn 18000 bucks a month. i have also heard that a state univ like ours can pay a stipend if they desire.why cant we all ask them to? c u all in class.
